Nancy E. Kelly, RN, CPA, MST, CFE
Nancy Kelly has over 20 years of experience providing assurance, tax,and consulting services exclusively for the not-for-profit industry. She started her accounting career at the Operational Services Division (OSD) and was on the team developing the Uniform Financial Report. resolving reporting and compliance issues with providers who were recipients of state funding. She then moved to BDO Seidman where she specialized and built her reputation in working with the not-for-profit community.
As a CPA in New York and Massachusetts, she has served on several Boards of Directors of not-for-profit organizations and has held President and Treasurer positions. Ms. Kelly is a frequent expert speaker on topics such as the new Federal Compliance with Governmental Regulations and Fraud in not-for-profits. She teaches compliance programs for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development on a national level. For several years, she lectured as an Adjunct Professor at New York University teaching Not-For-Profit Financial Management. Ms. Kelly also holds the designation of Certified Fraud Examiner and has performed many forensic investigations for not-for-profits. Prior to starting her own firm she was the Director of the Not-for-Profit Niche Services at CBiz, formerly Tofias, in Boston. Nancy is also a graduate of the FASTRAC Program of New York City, sponsored by the Kaufman Foundation.
Nancy Kelly is a Certified Public Accountant in New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. Prior to her accounting career, she worked for seven years as a registered nurse in the operating room of a major metropolitan hospital in Boston.
